Community Manager
Why Miami Children’s Initiative?
Being someone that has followed and implemented the Harlem Children’s Zone model. My heart goes out to those willing to do true community work. I saw MCI as one of those organizations. Implementing the Block by Block programming system to encourage and enforce change . In our underserved communities.
What’s the best part of your work?
Directly impacting families on a daily basis, with meals, information, genuine concern and love.
What’s your most memorable MCI experience?
There was a young kid crying on the front stoop. Upon inquiring with him about his tears. He stated he had a stomach ache because he was hungry . Immediately we moved to feeding him . Shortly after he had stopped crying and felt better. He then headed over to the playground to join some other kids.
How has MCI impacted your life?
MCI has impacted my life by giving me an opportunity to impact children and families . In a broader spectrum of collaborations and partnerships.
