Why Miami Children’s Initiative?
Working for a nonprofit organization provides one the opportunity to make a difference and be a part of creating a lasting impact in a community. Miami Children’s Initiative plays a vital role in building a healthy community for the residents of Liberty City by providing services that contribute to economic stability through education, health and safety initiatives.
What’s the best part of your work?
The best part of working in this organization is the ability to be entwined in the lives of our residents. I have the opportunity to see the impact that the organization is making, and I have been fortunate to have built lasting relationships and bonds with many of the families we serve and all of our partners.
What’s your most memorable MCI experience?
There are so many memorable experiences I’ve had over the years at MCI. This year the COVID -19 virus truly changed our nation and the way we must interact to provide support. Without missing a beat, the MCI team came together to provide support for our residents even though each one of them had been personally impacted by the pandemic. It was at that moment I realized just how special the MCI team is and how proud I am to be a part of it.
How has MCI impacted your life?
MCI is truly a part of who I am as a leader and as a person. It has given me the opportunity to share my craft to make the world a better place for children. Seeing the children succeed through the many adversities they face gives me impetus and motivation to continue to serve and gives me the satisfaction that I can make a difference.
Please name your favorite childhood character real or imaginary.
My favorite childhood character was Wonder Woman.
